Tucking in T-shirts

I decided to approach yiying's post in reply. She TOTALLY hates being asked to tuck in her shirt and thinks that tucking in shirt hasn't found its way into her dictionary, yet. She really raised alot of points about tucking in shirt= bad gurl/boy. I really envy her perspective about that.


But


Maybe we take this problem on the other perspective, a teacher's perspective. Think about it. You ARE now a teacher. and YOU have the resposibilty of keeping control of the school. If you slack in your responsibility, YOU will cause entire chaos in the school, students tucking out their t-shirt. Getting to see everyone IN SCHOOL tuck out t-shirt ain't a problem at all, its seeing it OUTSIDE school is going to pose a problem. Why is it so? Its because, other people see your t-shirt tucked out, only sends negative comments thru their brains. Then you may think, negative den negative lors!! Not affecting me at all what. Well this is the problem. 1 problem leads to another problem and another.


With these 'negative thoughts' that is shaping the mindsets of people, it can be spread just by a word of mouth.

"hey u noe smth about bukit batok sec pupils?"

" No lehs? whad happen to them?"

" They..very bad one.. Tuck out t-shirt like nobody's business. Very bad lors. Think I don't want anyone from my family to go to that school"

"Why? I thought they very good one"

"but u see, if they can tuck out shirts NOW. They can do the same in the future. I don't wan my child to get fired just because he tucked out shirt during working hours"



That, is the power of words. By then, the enrolment of sec 1's into Bukit Batok Secondary School would have dropped to maybe, 100. Which is, very little. It only consists of less then 4 classes. AND, prior to that, the reputation of BBSS would have gone down, deep down into the earth's crust you have ever imagined. NOBODY would want to go to that school anymore, and thus, leading to the obliteration of this goddamn school. Which in other words,bukitbatoksecschool.
NO MORE BUKIT BATOK SECONDARY SCHOOL. Ain't that sad?


Maybe to us, students, we take it as " oh, the school loose face ah.. good lo..". Cause we don't really get to feel the impact the school's gonna face soon. The teacher's will be there and they will have to suffer the humilation that there ain't a single sould entering the school on 1st January. The principal will feel guilty that she/he has caused the downfall of bbss, a once extremely good school. Its all up to you.


Thats why, to prove a point, the school forces us to tuck in t-shirts, in and outside school.


Another reason the school tries damn hard to ask the students to tuck in their shirts is because of their future. They are concered about our future of being a working person, someone that earns big bucks. Take a look at Donald Trump, or maybe Goh Chok Tong or Lee Kuan Yew. They wear clothes that are tucked IN and not tucked OUT. Have you ever pondered why they do it this way? Let me give you my answer. Its all about appearance. Appearance is the first thing they judge you on. You CANNOT just brush it off and say," aiyah, appearance only wad". But this is life. If you wear slippers and go for an interview you would be fired even before you present yourself. What you wear reflects what you think.


The school, enforcing such a rule at this stage is grooming us up to help us in the future. They are giving you the bricks you need to build your house. It's all up to you in the end to think as to whether you want your house to be 'built' or not.


That is, the natural advantages of tucking in your t-shirt, and I don't see why not. But how about tucking out t-shirt?

In the minds of students, tucking out t-shirt means comfortable, casual wear. That's the trend. It is, in actual fact, that tucking in t-shirt is very tight for the body and its alittle irritating, and so, must tuck out school t-shirt. Some times, students do not purposely tuck out-full- the school uniform. It just so happens because they tuck out alittle at first, but after a while of truding to school and activities, it just gets tuck out, unknowingly. In the end, students are just too lazy to tuck them in and leaves it out. So, tucking out isn't a premeditated act, but done unknowingly without intention of going against the school.


I, on the other hand, prefer to be on the grey zone. It is, TUCKING OUT the school t-shirt HALF-WAY and leaving the other half, TUCKED IN. That is, to me, the grey area. It does not goes against the school, neither does it really makes me a toot,nerd.

By the way, what's the defination of toot in the first place? Does in mean that you wear orr-biang spectacles like the one shown below, shirts tucked in full untill its ripping at the shoulders, shorts/pants pulled up till the belly and socks pulled up like a soccer player? I really do not know.


I thereby rest my case on tucking in school t-shirts NOT being a problem and that bbss is just being paranoid. Be happy that you understand. But if you don't please just relax and post a comment?thanks =))
